Description

My name is Steven Zimmerman, and for just over thirty-five I’ve worked in radio, newspapers, and television. News runs through my veins. However, over the last year, I’ve decided to shift my focus from negative to positive news.

Far too many of my fellow reporters are focused on what can lead to clicks and higher advertising dollars rather than what informs, inspires and conveys the true spirit of the community they cover. It is sad.

Because of that, and my depression is all the worse, I’m moving back into photography – my first love.

The first time I picked up a camera, I was twelve. That camera, a Kodak Instamatic X-125 (which I still have to this day) enabled me to learn photography. That led to my first photo running in the old El Paso Herald-Post back in 1983 – that photo was of a fog-filled valley, with a hiking trail leading into it, on Transmountain.

My goal is to create photos that anyone would be happy to hang on their walls. These photos will be offered for sale on ZipItZimmerman.com.

I am asking for your support to help enable me to continue to cover all things San Elizario. I want to continue to cover sports at San Elizario High School to events that happen within our community. Many of the photos I take will find their way onto SanEliNews.com.

Thank you for stopping by and considering supporting me and my work.
